CREATE A FAIRYTALE PARTY

We’ve searched Fairytale Land high and low for some terrific tricks for a magical party. Below you’ll find guides on how to paint the faces, as well as some wonderful activities to do with the kids.
FACE PAINT IDEAS

    FAIRYTALE PRINCESS

  1. Base
    Base Mix fuchsia and white together. Draw a series of large and small triangles, just like a crown. Don't forget to add small circles on the triangle tips.
  2. Detail
    Detail Draw smaller white circles at the top of each triangle and teardrop shapes inside the triangles. Paint one line above the eyebrow, following the eyebrow shape. Draw swirls on the sides of the cheeks.
  3. Finish
    Finish Draw white stars to decorate the crown.

    PRINCE

  1. Base
    Base Paint a thick pale yellow band across the forehead, with zig-zag peaks at the top and a slightly curved bottom edge.
  2. Detail
    Detail Using a thin brush, outline the crown in black and paint a row of tiny dots along the bottom edge. Add a thin, curly moustache above the top lip.
  3. Finish
    Finish Now paint alternating diamonds with sparkle blue and fuchsia, then finish by adding little white highlights on the gems.

    KNIGHT

  1. Base
    Base Cover the forehead and nose in silver metallic paint. Make two rectangle shapes on the sides of both cheeks.
  2. Detail
    Detail Roughly outline the two rectangles in black. Then draw a 'T' shape across the forehead and the nose.
  3. Finish
    Finish Draw a series of white dots above the eyebrows and on the nose. Draw white dots around the top and side of the rectangle shapes on the cheeks. Use black paint to add shadow to the white dots to make bolts.

KISS THE FROG

  1. GRAB YOU COLOURED CARD
    GRAB YOU COLOURED CARD You’ll need green, red, yellow, black, blue and white – like in the picture – and some scissors and glue.
  2. CUT YOUR SHAPES
    CUT YOUR SHAPES Cut out the frog’s body, tummy, crown, spots, eyes, pupils, nostrils and the all-important lips. Draw a big smiley mouth on his head and stick Blu-tak on the back of the lips.
  3. MAKE YOUR FROG
    MAKE YOUR FROG Glue all the pieces like in the picture. Now take it turns to wear a blindfold and see who can pin the lips on the frog’s mouth. (A bit like Pin the Tail on the Donkey!)

MAKE SOME TASTY TOFFEE APPLES

  1. MIX YOUR SAUCE
    MIX YOUR SAUCE Heat 400g of caster sugar, 350ml of golden syrup and 350ml of water in a pan until it turns thick. Stir in a teaspoon of red food colouring. Lightly grease some plates.
  2. DIP YOUR APPLES
    DIP YOUR APPLES Stick large lollipop sticks into 15 eating apples and dip each apple into the sauce, coating them well.
  3. ON YOUR MARKS, GET SET
    ON YOUR MARKS, GET SET Stand the apples on the plates and wait for the sauce to set, then hand them out to your little fairytale characters.

FAIRYTALE CROWN

  1. FIND YOUR MAGIC TOOLS
    FIND YOUR MAGIC TOOLS You’ll need different coloured card, glue and scissors.
  2. CUT YOUR SHAPES
    CUT YOUR SHAPES Cut out a strip with a peak in the centre, big enough to fit round a child’s head. Then cut out the ‘gems’ to decorate it, including one to sit at the top of the peak.
  3. FASHION YOUR CROWN
    FASHION YOUR CROWN Stick your ‘gems’ to the crown and glue the ends of the band together – a crown fit for royalty.
